Bonhams Fine Wine Sale Fetches £910,000

On 7 July, the Bonhams Fine Wine Sale attracted a lot of attention. More importantly, it raised a great deal of money. The Fine Wine Sale recorded sales of over £910,000. 93 percent of the fine wines on sale were sold by value. However, the star of the show here was a case of 1988 Romanee-Conti. A UK buyer picked up this case of a dozen bottles for a staggering £74,750. Romanee-Conti came up trumps a second time when a buyer from South America shelled out £50,600 for six bottles of 1985 Romanee-Conti. Another big winner from the evening was a collection of fifty-nine bottles of Chateau Mouton Rothschild. This set of nearly 5 dozen bottles dated between 1945 and 2004 fetched £52,900 at the high profile wine event.
