It is a Madonna Laboris which is part of a series of works depicting the Great Female Deities of the World. Roerich was spiritually obsessed and it resulted in this masterpiece. How To Choose A Painting

By Melville D Jackson We cannot image the modern world without art. It plays a continual, though often unnoticed role as decoration, and a more important one in the realization of our conceptions, creative ideas, and spiritual experiences. It's a profitable business for some people, and others find it necessary to the peace of their soul. It means something different to everyone, and all of us have our preferences as to particular works. Choosing a picture can be very difficult - large or small, dark or light, which genre, do you prefer figurative or abstract, do you value more a famous artist or an unknown amateur? So how do you make your choice? The most important thing is to listen to yourself, get to know yourself: your tastes, preferences, outlook on life. When you are selecting the picture it is not necessary to be guided by the preferences of others, which can be deceptive, for only you know what you need. But there are important practical considerations, depending ...

Tete de Femme (Jacqueline) by Picasso Expected to Fetch £4 Million

Image
Picasso has been one of the most prolific painters and artists from the 20th century. He defined what modernism is all about and set the stage for future painters who have drawn inspiration from his works and even learned to paint his works in order to learn the intricacies of painting. Tete de Femme (Jacqueline) was the portrait of his second wife that was rarely seen in public. In fact it was last seen in 1967 and has remained in private collection since 1981. The painting comes with humorously exaggerated features, and Picasso certainly had a sense of humour when paint8ing his own wife. The painting is now expected to fetch an astounding amount of £4 million. However, it must be noted that Picasso has always been a man of gold, and all that he painted has turned more expensive tan gold. If you are a serious art connoisseur, you really should go ahead and get this painting before anyone else does. Who knows, you might even be able to sell it for a higher price when yo...
