Waldseilgarten in Germany Offers Extreme Camping Experiences

Waldseilgarten, located in Pfronten, Bavaria in Germany is an adventure mountain resort that offers guests a thrilling night in the wilderness. It offers various options for its guests in terms of accommodation. The resort is situated at the top of a mountain summit and the guests can spend the night hanging off the tree tops, suspended over a cliff face, or within a hand built igloo.
The resort provides portaledge which is a deployable hanging tent system used by rock climbers. It is suspended from a secured single point. It features a fabric-covered platform supported by a metal frame and are suspended from thick branches of large free-standing trees. The guests are taught the basics of rope climbing as they can ascend or descend from the suspended tent only with rope assistance. There are other options available at the resort for a more extreme camping experience. They may sleep on an overhanging platform, positioned amongst huge cliff faces measuring between 1000 and 2000 meters (3280 – 6562 ft) high.
In the winter months the guests are helped in making their own igloo close to the summit and sleep in it. The igloos maintain an inside temperature of 3-4°C so warm clothing is required to spend the night there. The resort also offers various outdoor activities like hiking, tree rope courses, archery, rock climbing and snow walking or skiing in the winter months.
