Jaeger-LeCoultre Now Makes Honey
True to its historic roots located in an exceptional place between lake and forests in the Vallée de Joux, Jaeger-LeCoultre remains particularly concerned by and involved in the integration of its Manufacture within its natural environment.
Since July, observant visitors can spot ten hives installed in front of the entrance of the Grand Watchmaking House, or Grande Maison as it is known in French.
Jaeger-LeCoultre has decided to offer an authentic, original souvenir – a unique product from the Vallée de Joux – to each of its visitors.
From now on, every visitor to the Manufacture will have the opportunity of tasting “Honey from the Manufacture Jaeger-LeCoultre”.
The Grande Maison has decided to start its own production. Concerned about producing the best quality honey possible and with respecting biodiversity, Jaeger-LeCoultre called upon Franck Crozet, a professional bee keeper in the region, to install and take care of the ten hives set up in front of the Manufacture.
The aim of this initiative is to make the visitors, as well as the 1,200 employees, aware of Jaeger-LeCoultre’s commitment to preserving the environment.
Bees play a key role in nature – by transporting pollen from flowers that they visit, they contribute to the reproduction of plant species.
Today, they are a threatened species and this is a good opportunity for the Manufacture to give them a helping hand.
