Madonna to Sell her Luxury Estate in Beverly Hills for $28 Million
Like any other gossip related to celebrities the celebrity real estate gossip is also as interesting and exciting. And when Madonna is in the picture the gossip also acquires grandeur. The gossip read like a title of an album: Madonna has an album to promote and an estate to unload. The Real Estalker now reports that it is not mere gossip but the pop star has actually listed her French Country-style mansion that sits down a long gated drive off a particularly swish stretch of Sunset Boulevard in Beverly Hills for $28 million.
It is not a regular listing but a pocket listing which means that the real estate agent has entered into a contract to sell the luxury estate but the property is not listed in the Multiple Listing Service and the listing is not advertised. The area is full of massive mansions and exuberantly landscaped estates. The property boasts of high falluting neighbors like Stewart and Lynda Resnick, star maker Simon Cowell, sitcom royal Max Mutchnick, and shopping mall magnate Guilford Glazer.
According to the report carried by the real estate publication the property was bought by Madonna way back in 2003 when she was married to the English director Guy Ritchie. According to the documents available at the registry are not very clear but they indicate that she had paid about $12 million for the property at the time. The 1.14 acre estate had a 5,800 square foot home with three bedrooms only.
However professionals attached to the luxury real estate business in the area believe that it is highly likely that Madonna has added to the space and the estate now has more living space now than it had earlier. And what is more, she has completely redecorated the residence. The seller was actress Sela Ward who is known and appreciated for her roles in CSI: NY, House M.D. and Sisters.
It appears that Madonna is planning to spend more time in New York and less in Los Angeles and the lavish property there is not required by her any more. Her 15 year old daughter Lourdes is based in New York and studies at LaGuardia High School. In fact some of her photographs were released in the tabloids showing her smoking with her friends while visiting Manhattan. Madonna owns a triple-wide townhouse on the upper East Side in New York.
She had bought the house in 2009 for $32.5 million. Madonna has been active on twitter lately in order to promote her new album MDNA. One of her recent interested tweets was directed to Ryan Seacrest and concerned Tim Tebow who hopes to settle down in New York. She said that she would love to show Tim around town as she shares a lot of commonality with him. ‘He is like a virgin and so am I’, she joked.
Madonna has another property in Bridgehampton (NY) which is an equestrian facility that she bought in 2009 and renovated extensively. This is not the first time that Madonna has bought or sold luxury real estate in Los Angeles. If she sells this estate now she is sure to buy some other equally luxurious property in the future.
