The EGO SE 450 is a Boat and a Submarine !

It’s a boat, it’s a submarine, its EGO semi- submarine! Officially christened EGO-SE 450, this vessel gives you the option of seeing the beautiful aquatic world through its underwater cabin, but it also allows you to just laze around and soak up some sun on its upper portion, which is like a small boat.

The submerged portion of the vessel has glass windows on the front and sides allowing you to view the underwater surrounding while comfortably sitting in a chair. This compartment can accommodate two people for a submarine tour.

This submarine is directly attached to two parallel hulls that float over the water surface. The hulls are 4 metre long and would be perfect for tanning. This unique boat was developed in Korea. It was showcased at the 2011 Miami International Boat Show.

Thee submerged cabin has a joystick that allows the user to manoeuvre it in any direction. There is also an LCD screen wired to a high resolution camera on the surface, which enables the passenger to see what is going on at the surface to allow for safe navigation. If you are on the deck, you can also navigate with the help of a remote control type device that allows for tight navigation and docking.

There is a sonar attached to the bottom of the central hull that can tell the depth of the water. If the water is not deep enough an alarm is sounded so that you steer away the boat/submarine. The EGO submarine is a green submarine as well as it runs entirely on electricity and does not emit any pollutants.

With a full charge, one can sail around for about eight hours. But if you are looking for speed, you will be disappointed. The vessel can attain a maximum speed of just 3 knots i.e around 5.5km/hour. But a boat like this is more for leisure and not for the speed. If you want your very own private submarine you will have to shell out around $50,000.

Dubailand to Have a Replica of Taj Mahal Estimated to Cost $1 Billion

Dubai has grown into a wonderland despite its sweeping deserts. They are always willing to build what they don’t have. Its malls and hotels all boast of over the top architecture and they continue to take it forward after a small break in momentum because of the global economic slowdown. They have created islands in the shape of different continents. The megaproject in the pipeline is the massive Dubailand which has been planned as the world’s greatest theme park. In Dubai they love to make everything luxurious and grand. They are planning to replicate the Taj Mahal in Dubailand at a budgeted cost of $1 billion.

A Perfect Destination for Weddings

Arun Mehra, the developer of the project hopes to promote it as a wedding destination. It would be rather symbolic to get married in the monument of love. Dubailand will be spread over 227 square kilometer but the Taj project will be located in the Falcon City section, a large area of land designed to resemble a falcon spreading its wings. The budget for the Taj complex is close to $1 billion and it is expected to be completed by 2014. When completed, it will serve as a great attraction for the tourists in Dubai and boost the Emirates reputation as a destination for weddings.

The Taj Complex will Feature a 300 Room 5 Star Hotel

It will be called Taj Arabia and will be the centerpiece of the largest theme park which will be double the size of all the Disneyland and Disney World resorts combined. Taj Mahal was originally built as a monument of love by Mughal Emperor Sha Jehan at Agra, India in the 17th century. It is amongst the Seven Wonders of the World and attracts millions of tourists from around the world. However the replica is planned as a complex for commercial purposes. It will feature a 300-room, five-star hotel, along with apartments, offices, shops and restaurants. It is sure to match the real Taj in terms of the number of tourists it attracts.

Velvet Covered Ferrari 599 GTB in London

For the past few years, wrapping supercars or ordering them straight from the factory in matte finishes has really gained in popularity. The latest emerging trend appears to be wrapping supercars in dark shades of velvet, and the following velvet wrapped Ferrari 599 GTB was recently spotted cruising the streets of London by supercarsoflondon.

It almost feels like yesterday when matte finished paint jobs were the talk of the automotive town as their popularity eventually led to all sorts of car manufacturers offering the unique paint job, such as Lamborghini, BMW, Mercedes-Benz and even the likes of lower-end manufacturers like Hyundai. However, a selection of sports cars and supercars have recently surfaced wrapped in the high-end material better known for its use in furniture and clothing.

As you probably already know, the Ferrari 599 GTB was recently replaced by the even more impressive Ferrari F12 Berlinetta, but the 599 still remains an extremely impressive supercar. Featuring a 6.0-liter V12 engine coupled to either a 6-speed sequential or 6-speed manual transmission driving the rear wheels, the Ferrari 599 GTB is a true performance car. It produces 612hp and 448lb-ft of torque meaning the car can consequently hit 100km/h in just 3.7 seconds and onto a top speed in excess of 205mph. (via: http://www.gtspirit.com/)
