Porsche Reveals the 2015 Cayenne S E-Hybrid at the Paris Motor Show

Image
Porsche had announced its 2015 Cayenne line up in July this year but earlier this month, at the Paris Motor Show they revealed their Porsche Cayenne S E-Hybrid which is the latest addition to their vaunted Cayenne SUV lineup. Porsche, as a responsible corporate citizen is focused on reducing emissions and improving fuel efficiency.  The new car doesn’t look different than the newly upgraded Cayenne range but it successfully combines emissions-free electric motoring with the power and handling of Porsche’s premium SUV. The Cayenne S E-Hybrid is a parallel full hybrid car which means that the gasoline engine and electric motor can power the car independently or together. The new Hybrid from the Porsche stable was introduced at the Paris Motor Show by Porsche AG president and CEO Matthias Müller.  He pointed out that the car features lithium-ion cells with a 75 ampere-hour capacity which enables the car to run on electric power alone in a range of 18 to 36...

Porsche pays tribute to the iconic Martini Racing Team of the late 60s and 70s with the new Porsche 918 Spyder Martini Concept. Martini served as the official partner of the Porsche factory team between 1973 and 1978. The new livery is said to be inspired by the Porsche 917. Porsche said that driving trials of the Porsche 918 Spyder, which debuted as a two-seat concept at the 2010 Geneva Auto Show, are “entering the next phase.” Porsche previously said that customers will begin receiving the first cars by the end of 2013. The projected price is $630,000 with production limited to 918 cars. The postmodern Martini Racing design is “exclusively available” for the Porsche 918 Spyder, the automaker said.

Beckham Junior Drives His Own Porsche at 9!

Image
Like father, like son. Well, that is the Beckham pattern for sure. After all, the eldent offspring of footballer David Beckham too has taken up a passion for cars like daddy dearest, that too way early in life. Yes, we are talking about Brooklyn Beckham’s latest toy, which is none other than a refined version of the ultra-small Porsche sports car. Buzz is that the silver beauty comes at a whopping price of $72,610. Why not? Because it has been handcrafted and i powered by a diesel engine. Being a single seater, the toy car could be one reason for Brooklyn to not score too many brownie points; after all, we do know that even right now there are millions of kids and adults who would like to change places with him. In fact, we can say the same for his younger siblings too. No much has been revealed about the make of the toy car owned by the Beckham brat. But we do wonder how safe if would be considering the diesel engine left in the hands of a nine-year old. Yeah, we kn...

Porsche which once belonged to Bill Gates to be Auctioned

Image
Bill Gates is in the news again and this time it has nothing to do with the launch of a new software or the millions that get deposited in his bank account every month. Not long ago, when Bill Gates had just founded Microsoft with Paul Gates, he had purchased a Porsche, a brand of car that he has been associated with for a long time now.  It was in 1979 that he purchased the Porsche 911 Turbo that is now up for auction in Austria. We still don’t know as to how the car ended up in Austria after Bill Gates gave up its ownership in the 1990s. The car is estimated to fetch a pre- auction price of around € 39,000-€50,000 which will make it $55,500-$71,000 in the Dollar range. The car will come under the hammer on 6th June. It’s not been long since a Bill Gates estate was in news. It was in winter that he flew with his family to Florida and paid a whopping $600,000 to rent a home in Wellington, Florida. It was a house of a millionaire. Located at the plush Fairlane Court the hous...

Porsche Adds Two New Models to its Driver’s Selection Range of Bikes

Image
The automobile manufacturers, particularly in Europe, often try their designing skills at creating other modes of transport. Their focus has often been on bicycles and they have designed some great bikes over the years. BMW, Audi, McLaren and Porsche have been designing and producing bikes for years now. Porsche has recently designed two new bikes in its Driver’s Selection range. The new models have been named the Bike RS and the Bike S. Both the models have 29-inch wheels and have been made with lightweight materials to enhance performance. Bike RS weighs in at around 9kg. The weight has been restricted to a low level due to the extensive use of carbon fiber in the frame, forks, handlebars, stem and seat post. Apart from being light carbon fiber offers the rider higher stability and damping characteristics. The components used in the bike are also the best in their category like Shimano XTR 20 speed gearing, weight-optimized carbon brake levers, Magura hydraulic disc br...
