Duplex Penthouse Apartment in New York Connected with Helical Slide
Slides which were till now seen only in amusement parks have started making their way slowly into homes and offices. The Japanese architects Kazuki Nakamura and Kenichi Izuhara had created the “House with Slide” and the luxury holiday villa equipped with an amusement park sized water slide in Koh Samui, Thailand respectively. These are upscale residences and architects have ensured that living in them will be fun. Similar architectural experiment has been done in a luxury New York penthouse as well. Phil Galfond, a professional poker player has a penthouse duplex apartment in Manhattan’s East Village which has been redone and redesigned by Turret Architects. They have put in a custom sculptural steel helical slide in the apartment combining both the floors.
