Over water villas have become very popular with the luxury travelers and the lavish
St. Regis Resort Bora Bora  spread over 44 acres of lush unspoiled surroundings and pristine waters is way ahead of the competition.

Located on the idyllic island of Bora Bora in the Tahitian islands, the resort is a blissful Polynesian paradise and St. Regis’ signature service makes your stay the ultimate in luxury. Apart from the luxury, the privacy the resort offers to its guests has made it a favorite of A list celebrities from Hollywood.

Some of them like Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban, and Alyssa Milano and her husband David Bugliari chose to spend their honeymoon at the St. Regis Resort, Bora Bora. The resort, in collaboration with Cecilie Melli, one of Europe’s young fashion sensations, has created the ultimate wedding program for those who want a lavish wedding at the resort.

The Package Was Auctioned at Beverly Hills

The resort opened its doors for the guests in 2006 and has been striving since to improve on the experience they provide to their guests. For the wedding program the Norwegian designer has designed a selection of original wedding gowns, including the Lady Bora Bora. The new program is being promoted at the St Regis Beverly Hills. During the Carousel of Hope charity event presented by Mercedes-Benz a $250,000 wedding package will be auctioned. The high profile event will be hosted by Jay Leno, and actor, philanthropist George Clooney.

The Over Water Pool Villas Are the Largest and Most Expensive

The auctioned package includes 10 nights in the resort’s Royal Estate Villa, the Lady Bora Bora gown for the bride and a grand ceremony and reception. Services of a professional photographer, air tickets for the couple, airport transfers, water activities and five villas for five couples to share the memories will all be part of the package. The best and the most expensive accommodations at the resort are the “Over Water Pool Villas”. There are five of them and all are built on the edge of the lagoon and each of them is spread over 3,455 square feet. The two bedroom villas have their own pool and two private terrace gazebos. The guests have access to 24-hour concierge service which will arrange anything from room service to a day-long picnic on a private island.

Villa Escudero’s Waterfall Restaurant Provides the Most Exotic Dining Experience

Overwater villas have become the favorite of luxury travelers. The concept is extended further with the creation of a waterfall restaurant. The Villa Escudero’s Waterfall Restaurant in the Philippines is an extraordinary concept that provides an unmatched experience. We have seen underwater club and overwater restaurant but this is a first in the world and it is definitely a unique and a stunning experience. The Waterfall Restaurant serves local Philippines cuisine and the guests are seated in ankle deep water right in front of a waterfall. It is a new and unique experience that is difficult to recreate.

Authentic Local Cuisine is Served on Bamboo Dining Tables

You feel very close to nature. The lunch is served on long bamboo dining tables immersed in water. In fact it is flowing water that is coming from the waterfall. It is ideal for travelers who are interested in knowing the local traditions and food recipes. The Villa Escudero is located in the Quezon province of the Philippines and has created an exotic atmosphere even in its rooms. However it does not prepare you for the surprise of an ethnic restaurant so close to a waterfall. You can’t probably imagine a better dining experience. The food served is authentic local cuisine with all ingredients sourced locally.

Experience the Waterfall Restaurant

The dining experience at the Waterfall Restaurant is inspiring. The ambiance, the atmosphere and cuisine all combine to transport you to another world altogether. The water falling down towards long picnic like tables while you savor the popular local dishes is an experience you cannot forget in a hurry. A dining experience on a tree top or in a transparent shell underwater can also not match the stunning experience of the Waterfall Restaurant. The sound of the water falling, the spray of the water that you feel on your skin and the flowing water that washes your feet is an incredible setting and experience. The resort has used the location and the natural resources rather well and created an experience that is very difficult to recreate anywhere else.

Rafael Serrano Acquires Lease of Admiralty Arch to Make a Luxury Hotel

Luxury hotels give a lot of importance to its location but can you ever beat the Admiralty Arch that forms a majestic gatehouse from Trafalgar Square to Buckingham Palace?

It has been one of the top landmarks of London for exactly a century now and the government has now decided to give it away to be developed as a five star luxury hotel. The building was commissioned by King Edward VII and was completed in 1912. It was built to house the offices and residences of British Sea Lords but had become dilapidated over the years due to lack of proper maintenance. The building is large enough to house a 100 room luxury hotel complete with royal and presidential suites, a ballroom, spa and fine dining restaurant.

The Developer Will Preserve the Period Features of the Building

The Admiralty Arch was put up for sale last year and has been acquired on a 99 year lease by London based firm Prime Investor Capital for a consideration of £60million. The man behind the firm is none other than the Spanish developer Rafael Serrano who is responsible for the glitzy Bulgari Hotel in Knightsbridge. According to the purchase agreement the developer will preserve the Grade I listed building’s period features. In the 100 year history of the building it has never been made accessible to the public but now as a hotel almost 100,000 people are expected to visit it annually.

Serrano Will Keep This Hotel Simple and Elegant

The Bulgari hotel created by Mr. Serrano which opened this June has become the most expensive hotel in London with cheapest rooms starting at £850 a night. However many people find the hotel to be brash and tasteless and even call it the Vulgari. They hope that going with the history of the building he will keep this hotel simple and elegant. Some people also consider the price of £60million too less as six bedroom housed in the locality are listed for as much as £30million. It is an eight storey structure with 147,300 square feet of covered space. Over 100 million pounds will be required to transform the building into a luxurious hotel. The project should take off after the final go-ahead by the Westminster City Council. It will be some time before you can hope to stay in the building with majestic views.

Banyan Tree Launches Its First Resort in India Located in Kerala

When you see the exclusive and luxurious all pool villa resort Banyan Tree Kerala, you realize why the Indian state is called ‘God’s Own Country’.  The operators have chosen the perfect location for their Indian debut. The resort is located on Kerala’s private island of Nediyathuruthu in the Alleppey district of the state. The structures and interiors have incorporated the aesthetic elements of Kerala. The Resort Has the First Banyan Tree Spa

The traditional woodwork has been done in deep brown teak. Aranmula metal mirrors and glittering copper wall hangings of Nettippattam have been used extensively in the main building. The region boasts of a rich cultural history and it is represented in the ceiling carvings, colorful Kathakali artwork, mural paintings and handicrafts of natural coir and cane. Kerala has matured as a wellness destination and the operators of the resort have created their first Banyan Tree Spa with a dedicated Ayurvedic Centre. The guests can really enjoy the backwaters on the houseboat. The resort also boasts of meeting facilities, an all day restaurant and Banyan Tree Gallery.

The Resort is Positioned as World’s Best Luxury Spa Resort

The operators have positioned the Banyan Tree Kerala as the world’s best luxury spa resort as their spa takes a holistic approach to physical and spiritual well being of its guests. They have adapted the local message treatments and techniques that have evolved over centuries. There is a lot that the resort offers in terms of recreational activities. It features a gymnasium and yoga pavilion, resort pool, kids club, library and games and meeting facilities. It also has a recreation zone featuring a multi-purpose court, climbing wall, archery range and obstacle course. The dining experience at the resort is also unique because of the traditional Keralan spices of chili, cardamom and cloves that are blended cleverly with international dishes. Alpha: The Glenlivet’s Mysterious New Single Malt Whiskey

The Glenlivet is launching a mysterious new single malt whiskey christened Alpha. I say mysterious because the manufacturers have revealed no cask information, age or tasting notes. Those interested will have to decipher its secrets by triumphing in a series of online challenges. Packaged in a sleek black bottle, nothing is given away until the whiskey is poured. Only 3,350 bottles have been manufactured by Master Distiller Alan Winchester at The Glenlivet Distillery located in Speyside. Their distillery is already known for its exceptional offerings and we are sure this one won’t disappoint either.

The online challenges will engage each sense be it look, smell or taste with the help of a number of digital interactive tools. Alan Winchester feels that this task will make people better appreciate its flavour and expand their understanding of the complexity of this single malt whiskey. An online community will be created where the Master Distiller himself will offer clues and answer queries about his creation. The challenge can be undertaken and shared on The Glenlivet website and Facebook for a six week period. All the secrets regarding the flavor, age etc will be revealed at the end of this period.

The Glenlivet Alpha will be available from May 8th onward for £95. Its selected retailers include the Whisky Shop, The Whisky Exchange, and Master of Malt. The sense challenge will be live on The Glenlivet website and Facebook from May 7th onward. The identity of the Glenlivet Alpha will be revealed through a video on their website on May 10th.

Glenlivet is the No.2 single malt whisky in the world and No.1 in the US. It has been crafted in the Livet Valley ever since 1824. The distillery was set up by George Smith and had a fan following that included King George IV and Charles Dickens.

ICEBERG Water: The Purest Water In The World

ICEBERG Water is a great new offering for those who do not want to take any chances on the quality of our water supply. In a world where the purity of even bottled water is questionable, ICEBERG Water ensures that the water you are drinking is pure and pristine. The water in their bottles is derived from the Arctic ice shelves that were formed 12 thousand years ago. Hence it is bereft of any modern industrial pollutant. Infact it has the lowest mineral content in any bottled water in the world. Gradually these ice shelves broke away and migrated southwards towards Canada. It is from the Canadian coastline, that they harvest the water from these icebergs before they melt and become one with sea.

For generations, the locals have harvested water from these icebergs. They believe this water to have healing properties. Now this gift of nature is available in the UK. Bottled in beautiful clear and frosted bottles with snowflakes pattern on them, they can be great for parties or as a gift to a health conscious friend. The 75 cl bottles can be purchased from leading suppliers in the UK like Hedonism Wines, Caviar House, or online at Lux Drinks. You will also find them at some of the best bars and restaurants in the UK like Nobu London and The Blue Bar at The Berkeley.

ICEBERG Water is harvested from icebergs under license from the Canadian government. It is brought to the other side of the pond by sea freight. Some researches even say that water harvesting from icebergs will reduce the chances of the ocean levels from rising due to global warming by utilising the water before it is lost into the ocean. But this kind of purity comes with a hefty price tag, in this case a tag of £13 a bottle.

Inner Desire from Singapore Creates $6,000 Swimsuit for FTV Beach Party

A most expensive swimsuit worth $6,000 has been created by a mother and daughter team from Singapore FTV Beach Party slated to begin next weekend. Both the mother, Ms Christina Ho and daughter Esther Loh spent an entire week designing and then hand sewing Swarovski crystals on to the swimsuit. Esther is confident that the crystals will stay on even if the wearer goes for a swim, however she does not recommend it. It is more of the beauty pageant variety and they have sponsored the swimwear for several pageants in the past including Miss Singapore Chinatown 2012, Miss Bikini International Singapore 2012 and the Miss Universe Singapore 2013.

Inner Desire is an Online Business Launched Three Years Ago

The mother and daughter team are the founders of Inner Desire, an online business that they launched three years ago. They design and retail a range of luxury swimsuits, lingerie and sleepwear. Their designs are very affordably priced between $34 and $120. Ms Ho explained that it was the time when e-commerce was booming and they realized that only international brands of swimwear were available online. They saw an opportunity for a local swimsuit brand for those who wanted to buy it but did not want to visit the shop. Ms Loh designs most of the pieces they retail though she does not have any formal training in the field. However she has become more proficient and confident than she was in the beginning.

Inner Desire is one of the six labels participating in the fashion event. The other five are Gnossem, Armoire, Zardoze and Triumph International’s premium lingerie range for women Valisere and the men’s range, Hom. Inner Desire has a wide range of swimsuits with Swarovski crystals but 25 of them will not be on display the coming weekend as they are not back from the recently-concluded Miami Swim Show. The rich and the famous will be in full attendance at the FTV Beach Party and Inner Desire hopes to make a great impact.

The Hakkasan at Las Vegas is the first nightclub for the restaurant brand. The chain has restaurants at many hotspots around the globe including London, New York City and Miami. The nightclub at Las Vegas is housed in MGM Grand Hotel & Casino and has been developed as a five-level culinary and nightlife mecca. The highlight of the nightclub is their bottle service which costs $500,000 and is easily the world’s most expensive service of its kind. Three of the bottles in the collection are in new sizes and have been created specifically for the package.

The Collection Created Exclusively for Hakkasan

Each Bottle in the Collection is Hand Crafted at Chigny-les-Roses in France

The nine bottle collection of Armand de Brignac’s prestige cuvée Brut Gold Champagne starts from the standard 750-milliliter bottle then goes up to 1.5 liters, then 3, 4.5, 6, 9 12, 15 and finally the world record breaking 30 liter Midas. The total collection by volume is equivalent to 109 standard bottles of Champagne. If you want to own the exclusive collection yourself then you must place the order quickly because the supply is limited. Each bottle is hand crafted and there are only eight craftsmen who do this specialized job. The iconic brand was established way back in 1763 in Chigny-les-Roses in France. The brand is currently owned by the Cattier family who acquired it in 1951.

Castello del Sol Sold for $30 Million Becomes the 3rd Most Expensive Home in Miami

Miami’s luxury real estate market remains upbeat and has witnessed the second $30 million transaction in less than a month. A waterfront estate on La Gorce Island called the Castello del Sol was purchased for $30 million on Monday. The property is a fine example of classic Miami opulence. It has been developed like a resort and boasts of all luxury amenities including a lagoon style pool overlooking the bay. It is a gated Mediterranean style compound that is now the third most expensive single family home in the Miami Dade County. The two properties that were priced higher were sold last year and are located on the nearby Indian Creek Island.

The Estate Boasts of 349 Feet of Biscayne Bay Frontage

The other real estate deal in the region that crossed the $30 million mark was the sale of two side by side penthouse condos in the up-and-coming Residences at Miami Beach Edition. The prestigious deal worth $34 million was concluded earlier this year. Castello del Sol is spread over two acres of the La Gorce Island and the gate compound juts out from Miami Beach. The estate has 349 feet of Biscayne Bay frontage and boasts of three teak docks that can even accommodate a large yacht. Apart from the lagoon style pool the compound has a waterfall and a swim-up bar. The estate also has a lighted tennis court, a gym, a one-bedroom guest house, a two-bedroom staff apartment and on-property guard house.

Furniture Designed by Versace Adds to the Luxury of the House

The main house on the estate has 17,000 square feet of living space with eight bedrooms and nine and one half bathrooms. The home with gold leaf accents also boasts of a double kitchen, a library, a theater, a safe room, and a rooftop lounge overlooking the bay and downtown Miami. Furniture designed by Versace add to the luxurious look and feel of the home. Trophy homes like Castello del Sol have a very limited supply and they attract the attention of both domestic and international buyers. The estate located at 42, La Gorce Circle was first listed in October with an asking price of $37 million. The Jills represented the seller and EWM Realty International represented the anonymous buyer.

Former Versace Mansion in Miami to be Auctioned in September

Gianni Versace’s former mansion on the Ocean Drive, Miami is headed for the auction block by the order of the US Bankruptcy Court. The villa has some sad history associated with it as the fashion icon Gianni Versace was shot dead in 1997 on its steps. The company that is managing the sale of the trophy home has assessed the value of the property to be above $50 million. Apart from its history, the mansion’s location also adds to its value as it is located just a stone’s throw from the beach on Miami’s Ocean Drive tourist strip. The palatial Miami villa also has several outbuildings on the premium property.

The Mansion and its Outbuildings are Well Preserved

The property is considered to be the Crown Jewel of Ocean Drive and is surely one of the most coveted trophy properties worldwide. Understandably the property is very elegant and stylish as it belonged to Gianni Versace. Called Casa Casurina, it is a one of a kind property as it retains all the Versace design elements. It is an oasis for the rich and famous and it is expected that they will bid vigorously for the property. The auction will be held on the premises of the villa on September 17, later this year. The mansion and its outbuildings are very well preserved and maintained.

Gianni Versace Was Shot Dead on the Steps of the Mansion

The mansion was transformed into a boutique hotel but the current owner is having to auction it to meet his financial obligations. Lamar Fischer, the president of the Fischer Auction Company which is handling the sale is very confident about the property and doesn’t expect the auction to last more than 30 minutes. He was not willing to hazard a guess as to what will be the successful bid but he felt that since the property has been assessed to be valued at over $50 million the price should also go above that. Gianni Versace was shot dead by a serial killer named Andrew Cunanan on the steps of the mansion in July 1997. The killer committed suicide few days later.

Goring Officially Becomes the Hotel of Choice of the British Royal Family

Right now the royal news is about welcoming the heir to the British Monarchy. But couple of years ago it was all about the William-Kate Wedding.

There were stories about Kate Middleton’s Wedding Dress, the luxury hotel Goring where the Middleton family stayed and its Royal Suite where Kate spent the night before her wedding.

The hotel which is a 69 room boutique hotel is back in the news as the British Queen has granted a Royal Warrant to it. As a result The Goring has become Royal family’s ‘Hotel of Choice’.

It is a 103 year old hotel with a rich history and is owned and operated by the same family that built it over a century ago. The tag line coined for the centenary celebration in 2010 was ‘One Hundred Years, One Family’.

Goring Enjoys a Close Association with British Royals and Military

This is the first time a luxury hotel is being awarded this distinction. The hotel has had a close association with the British Royal and military establishment. It functioned as the command center of the Chief of Allied Forces in 1914 during World War I. Queen Mary was a regular visitor and Lady Randolph Churchill is said to have moved in as she liked the hotel very much. The hotel exudes the classic British luxury. Even the doorman is dressed in a black top hat and tails. The hotel also boasts of some unique features like a light switchboard in the suite that provides five or six lighting schemes including ‘cozy’ and ‘romantic’.

The Staff of the Hotel Make the Guests Feel Royal

Jeremy Goring, the hotel’s Chief Executive, talked at length to Forbes about receiving the honor. He primarily credited the staff of the hotel who make the guests feel royal. They don’t focus only on guests in the Royal Suite but are equally attentive to guests just dropping in for the afternoon tea. He admitted that it was possible that other hotels might receive the same distinction over time but hoped that the Goring remained the first and the only hotel with the royal distinction. The hotel is a British gem and has taken great care in maintaining the traditional British style and ambience. The hotel prides itself in providing the warmest of welcomes, utter discretion, and the highest level of service.

Soneva Kiri’s Restaurant Serves Diners in Dining Pod Perched on Trees

Soneva Kiri is the most luxurious hideaway on Thailand’s unspoilt and untamed island Koh Kood. The natural beauty of the resort is unmatched and the experience of staying in one of its 27 villas nestle among palm fringed hills around a secluded bay is simply exhilarating. However the most uplifting experience at the resort is to dine in a treetop dining pod. This is the world’s only restaurant where diners are seated in a bird’s nest. These giant wicker pods have been fixed on tree tops about 16 feet above the ground. The trees have been selected carefully so that it provides stunning views of the sea and the rain forest.

The Meals Are Expensive by Thai Standards

A meal for two served in the bird’s nest 16 feet above the ground expectedly very expensive. Guests have to pay 14,000 Baht which is equivalent to £283 and more significantly is about half a month’s wages of an average Thai worker. These dining pods are designed and created specially to resemble a nest. It is structure crafted out of wood that is covered with a meshing that looks like a bird nest. In addition the pod is shaded by a canopy to protect the guests from the searing sun. It is the highlight of Soneva Kiri, rather the entire Koh Kood island.

The Restaurant Has Taken Cuisine to New Heights

The tree top restaurant serves traditional Thai delicacies. The resort claims, and justifiably so that the tree-top chefs have taken ‘haute cuisine to new heights’. Several of the dishes are prepared with fish caught from the surrounding shores. The other ingredients used by the chef are also totally organic. The experience of dining at night on the tree top can truly be memorable. You can’t possibly match a dinner by starlight overlooking the midnight blue Gulf of Thailand.

The restaurant has evolved a very innovative and interesting way of serving the diners on the tree tops. The waiters provide airborne service as they are harnessed to a zip-line and moves on a network of cables. There is a landing platform attached to each dining pod where the waiter lands and serves the guests. If you want to extend the exotic experience then the resort can arrange to have you dropped off on a deserted beach by a speed boat to enjoy a picnic.

The Gritti Palace Hotel In Venice Gets a Facelift

Some of the greatest writers of the past century have gushed about the Gritti Palace Hotel in Venice. Somerset Maugham was so enamoured that he said, “there are few things in life more pleasant than to sit on the terrace of the Gritti when the sun about to set bathes in lovely colour the Salute”, while Ernest Hemingway described it as “the best hotel in a city of great hotels”. The favourite Venetian haunt of these great litterateurs has undergone a €5 million, 15 month long renovation and has been restored to its former glory.

The luxury hotel is located on the Grand Canal is a stone’s throw away from St Mark’s Square.
The Gritti’s history goes back six centuries. In 1475, the Pisani family transformed it into the Gothic style, which it still retains today. In 1525, it became the private residence of Andrea Gritti, the Doge of Venice.

It is from him that the name of the hotel is derived. Even its history as a hotel is more than hundred years old, starting from the year 1895, when it was converted to a luxury hotel. Paolo Lorenzoni, the hotel’s general manager describes the new and improved hotel as a “refined version of its iconic self”.

The Gritti now has a total of 61 bedrooms and 21 suites. Their most spectacular suite is the Redentore Terrazza Suite that boats of a 360 degree rooftop terrace for an amazing view of the city and a spa pool to relax.

The hotel is soaked in the city’s rich history, with its rooms being named after important personalities, landmarks or events such as battles that have contributed to the evolution of Venice’s culture and heritage. The hotel houses The Gritti Epicurean School, which is an open kitchen offering wine tastings, private dinners and chef’s tables. The Gritti also has an impressive library, called the Explorer’s Library, where guests can have a look at antique and rare books. I am not surprised why its famous guests were all raves about this beautiful piece of Venetian history.
