Set on a 1,000 meter long white sand island within the turquoise waters of a shallow lagoon, Kanuhura offers luxurious all-villa accommodation and outstanding levels of service. Beach Villas and Grand Beach Villas have individual verandas and private beach fronts along the coral-sand shore, while Water Villas and Grand Water Villas, perched over the lagoon, have private staircases leading directly down to the crystal clear waters. 

All rooms offer views out to the Indian Ocean, king size bed, air-conditioning and ceiling fans, and spacious semi-open-air bathrooms with a shower under the sky and free-form stone bath. Each villa is assigned a villa host to look after every guest’s needs during their stay.

Duplexes comprise two interconnecting villas, and are perfect for families and larger parties. Each unit has its own courtyard area and gateway for added privacy. The villa is comprise of one bedroom with a King bed and the other one with Twin beds.


The largest villas available at the resort are the Grand Beach Villas. With two bedrooms, two large bathrooms, Jacuzzi bath, a living room, kitchenette, dining table, veranda and a wide beachfront, the suites offer a cosy “home-away-from-home”, especially for long-staying guests. Out on the water, set along mighty sun-bleached wooden pontoons connected to a gangway from the center of the island, are 18 Water Villas. With private sundecks and staircases that lead down into the water, each Water Villa offers guests direct access to the lagoon. Kanuhura Spa
Kanuhura Spa is one the largest Asian-style spas in the Maldives, with beautifully designed wooden interiors creating a sanctuary for relaxation and overall wellness. Set in its own lavish pavilion and featuring beautifully designed wooden interiors, The Spa houses eight beautifully appointed treatment rooms complete with private outdoor garden shower, half of which are designed for couples to have side-by-side therapies. Spa products are specially blended with fragrant essential oils of flowers, spices, herbs, fruits and plants from all over the world.

Kandu-Olhi
Kandu-olhi in Dhivehi (the national language of Maldives) means ‘Ocean Channel.’ The Spa’s beach pavilion, located behind the resort’s Organic Chef’s Garden, is specially designed for open air therapies, peaceful relaxation and as a meditation area overlooking the infinite sea to encourage a nurturing holistic experience.

Diving
Sun Dive Centre, awarded the prestigious PADI Gold Palm status in recognition of excellent facilities and tuition, rigorous safety standards and expertise, caters for experienced divers with excursions to unique dive sites, and offers newcomers a first class introduction to diving. For the more experienced, nitrox diving is available.

Water Sports
Whether you're a complete beginner or an experienced sailor, Kanuhura's huge, protected coral-free lagoon offers some of the finest windsurfing and catamaran sailing conditions in the world.

Pools and Beaches
In addition to its large fresh water swimming pool and a second pool devoted solely to children, Kanuhura is surrounded by nearly three kilometres of the softest, whitest, most pristine sand beaches imaginable.

Dining

Thin Rah
The main restaurant at Kanuhura, Thin Rah offers extensive buffets with open-cooking stations where chefs prepare themed cuisines and individual dishes for guests. In one of three dining pavilions, each with a distinct theme and ambience, enticing choices include fish, seafood and regional specialties, fusion dishes, sushi and sashimi, exotic salads and fruits from markets around the world, homemade ice creams and selections for younger guests. Tables are set in the airy open-sided interior of the thatch-roofed restaurant or out on the beach overlooking the lagoon and poolside for al fresco breakfasts and evenings under the stars.Serving breakfast and dinner.

Olive Tree
Olive Tree serves a la carte dishes from throughout the Mediterranean and features an open pizza oven. Specialties are fresh pastas, salads and a mouth-watering selection of freshly caught grilled seafood and steaks. ‘Cuisines of the sun’ inspired by the flavours of the Mediterranean are offered for lunch. Enjoy the intimate atmosphere of the restaurant itself, or take a poolside table for a romantic candlelit dinner as a glowing sunset fades into a million twinkling stars. Serving lunch and dinner.

Veli Cafe
Candlelit romance on the shores of the Indian Ocean sets the tone for Veli Cafe, with its white-linen covered tables and chairs set amidst the luxurious shade of frangipani trees on the beachside wooden terrace. An extensive choice of carefully selected wines make the perfect accompaniment to fresh seafood from the Maldivian atolls, fused with spices, pickles and sauces to form a delectable Thai cuisine. Jehunuhura Island
Across a 300 metre shallow lagoon channel, just a five-minute boatride from Kanuhura, is the resort’s neighbouring uninhabited islet of Jehunuhura. A pristine powder-fine sand beach and a small manicured ‘jungle’ interior give a true Robinson Crusoe feel to this little piece of paradise. Six individual cabanas offer guests a relaxing retreat from the heat of the afternoon sun. Chilled water and cold towels are served from Cove’s restaurant, which is open daily for gourmet al fresco lunches. In the evening, the island becomes a haven for private parties or romantic private parties or romantic hideaways for two. Guests may choose from a selection of custom-designed dining and overnight options.
